We want to give children the mathematical skills and the confidence that they need to solve problems. We want children to learn through enquiry and to develop the ability to reason, think logically and to work systematically and accurately. We believe that all children should be challenged in maths and have the opportunity to succeed. Children will work with concrete, pictorial and abstract resources enabling them to have clear models and images to aid their learning. Arithmetic and known facts will be regularly practised to ensure that children can recall information quickly and make links between mathematical topics.
